    First off, let me "pre-apologize" as I'm sure that this is something very simple, but I just can't seem to figure it out.

    I've just purchased "Epic Horns" and I've selected Matrix Level 1 "L1 HO-8Perf-Legato." The default for dynamics seems to be set via velocity. I'd like to use the mod wheel to cross fade between velocities. I've been in the "Advance Page" and have changed "Velocity XF" to cc1 (to match other instruments that I use) but that doesn't seem to do anything. What am I obviously missing?

    Is the a global change to go from velocity dynamics to cc XF?

    Once again, sorry for my ignorance and thank you in advance.

    See the little button next to the velocity x-fade slider? That's the global velocity x-fade switch, which would have to be set to "on".

    The button can also be automated by CC, a keyswitch etc. Perhaps it's currently controlled by something that also happens to be assigned to something else, which keeps turning it off.
    Velocity x-fade can also be controlled on a slot/patch basis here:

    "Global" turns velocity x-fade for that particular patch on or off according to the global setting.

    "On" and "off" overrides the global switch regardless of its state.
