The drives that holds all of the samples from all of my various virtual instruments died. I would verymuch like to be able to just re-install the samples to the new replacement drive and point the respective instrument OS to it. Can I do this with my VSL Solo Strings 1 Library, or do I have to un-install the entire program and star over from scratch?

Can I re-install the samples WITHOUT having to uninstall and reinstall entire OS?

You would just use Directory Manager to establish the location of your VLS samples
Could you talk me through the process? When I loaded the disk in to copy the saamples to the new drive, I get the error message "COULD NOT FIND VSL BINARY INSTALLATION. PLEASE INSTALL MAIN PACKAGE BEFOR INSTALLING CONTENT." So, how do I get around this blockade?

Hi keyplayer, Please install the latest Vienna Instruments Software from MyVSL-> Software Installers. Then start the Library Installer from the Vienna Instruments program folder and point it to the package.info file on DVD #1 of your Solo Strings Collection to start with the installation. Best, Paul

It didn't work any better than the original Library Installer. I made several Jpegs to show you what's happening.
1.) I open the Library installer. I get the message telling me that I will be asked to provide the location of the files on the DVD. So far, so good. There is a message saying to download Instruments and MIR Room Packages inclded with the download. I select okay.
2) The next window shows the BD-ROM Drive with the VSL DVD1 inserted in the address window. It says Library Installer1.0.app. In the window it says Files currently on the disc(1): Contents
3) I open the contents folder and see Files currently on the disc(2): 2 folders, MacOS and Resources. As I am on a PC, I open the Resorces folder. It is empty!
There isn't an all files option. So I can't try to force a view of the samples. I've got an empty folder and no other way in to access the samples (WTH?).
So, now what do I do?

Hi Keyplayer,
The disc you inserted looks like the SOFTWARE CD that contains very old versions of our software programs.
You should have the Special Edition DVD´s (4 of them, IIRC), these will work.
If not, you can download all files from MyVsl (instructions in the column on the left).
Best,
Paul
