  • 101 Manual (SOLVED!)

Hi - I thank you (esp Paul) for the help you've provided me in my short time here. Historically, I am fairly adept at many different soft synths and advanced use.  Yet, I have to say that without a 'true 101' manual - one that explains in detail from the ground up, I may never come to grips with getting all possible out of my VI saxes. Some of the things I don't understand are even rudimentary level. But I learn best by reading - I recall what I read best. I thought about upgrading to all the great tools in Pro, but even the Pro manual says to get the base instrument under grasp before doing that.

Here's an example of the current manual assuming I had prior versions/experience - I searched the manuals (both VI and Pro) to find out how or if possible to adjust the volume of release samples to no avail. I am trying to learn how to make release samples not play when playing fast - only at the end of a held note in a run, and couldn't find a 'right' combination of search words to get any info.

Is there a version of the manual that takes this Instrument from a 'ground up' level?

Has any company made a video or video series on  VI/VI Pro (besides the few on VSL)?

Thanks much for your time and help! - Shep

  • It took a bit of searching, but I think I found the solution for me. For $27US, this ' pics/instructions tutorial' defines  of every aspect I've needed to learn so far very well. Highly recommended by this rookie. Here's a link to it.
