I cannot find the option for creating orchestral Viola in Sibelius 7.5.1

Hello,

I recently installed Sibelius 7.5.1 and after importing Vienna House Style I Cannot find the Viola and Cello from orchestral Strings on the create instrument page alyhough the Violin I and II and Bass are on the list. What should I do?

Hello Fabio!

Maybe you have removed the instruments from the list by accident. I would try the following steps. Make sure that you choose the instruments from "All Instruments". If they still don't appear, I would reimport the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style. Make sure to keep at least the "Instrument definitions" checked. You can turn off the other import options.

Hello Andi, thank you for the reply, unfortunately I had done both things that you suggested and the situation remained the same, I will try again anyway, maybe i will switch back to Sibelius 6.2 and see if those instruments appear there. Fabio

That's odd. Then I would try to run the latest version of the VSL Soundset Installer and reimport the House Style one more time after that.

Hi Andi, I did that too, even tried to import a modified house style and it remained the same. I am thinking of recreating the instrument definition... Fabio

Hi Fabio!

Maybe Sibelius doesn't bring instruments back automatically, if they were once deleted. I would check in the Sibelius Edit Instruments menu, if your missing "[VSL Orchestral Strings]" instruments are filed under "Instruments not in ensemble". If they are there, you can bring them back with the "Add to Family" button.
