Is there a limitation of connected VE Pro instances in Logic X?
Hi! I'm having a strange VE Pro problem that I'm hoping someone can help me out with. I'm transferring a local Logic X template over to a local VE Pro template (all on one computer). I prefer to have a single vframe for each track to maintain the use of "bounce in place", among other things, so I am not using multitimbral instances and have a whole lot of vframes in VEP Server (64 bit). With that said, the first 75 instances worked as you would expect. On instance number 76, only "localhost [new]" shows up in the available instances window, with none of my other created vframes. If I connect that to create a new instance (which is my only option at that point), on number 77, no vframes show up at all, not even the option for a new one. If I disconnect an instance, the option for a new instance comes back, and if I disconnect another, all my vframes come back. I know that normal usage of VEP is to have many fewer multi-timbral instances and route the MIDI, but for now that's not the best way for me to work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Paul, Yeah, I know it's not the most usual case having so many instances, but if 75 of them work 100%, I hope that I can get a few more in there. I'm on a 2009 8-core Mac Pro, 2.26GHz, 40GB of RAM. I can add as many instances to VEP Server as I want, but Logic stops finding them after 75. I'll email you the metaframe. Thanks!

I was told by VSL support that to get the best performances out of VSL is to have a single VE
I also Use IAC !
I run a VE with 100 VI and MIR PRO in 7.1
The draw back is you have to bounce all your song in real time ! this is not a big deal !
MacBook Pro M3 MAX 128 GB 8TB - 2 x 48" screen --- Logic Pro --- Mir Pro 3D --- Most of the VI libs, a few Synch... libs --- Quite a few Kontakt libs --- CS80 fanatic -

Hi Cyril,
.
Thanks, but that doesn't work for me. I need a separate output for each track, and if I had to bounce everything in real time, I would spend half my life printing stems/synth masters. And I'd lose Bounce In Place. So in my case, it *is* a big deal. ;)
.
Performance isn't an issue with 75 instances. The first 75 run just fine. It's just that that's the maximum number of instances it will let me connect. If I could use multi-timbral instrument tracks in Logic and not lose Bounce In Place, I probably would.

I know this is a very old thread, but are there any updates to this? Has there been any progress in figuring out this ~75 instance limit in Logic?
Thanks!

Which build of VEPro are you using? The latest build should make more instances possible. I would also recommend using the Multiport Layer for Logic Pro X 10.1. 75 instances sounds like a lot of hassle for navigation.
Hi Martin is the multiport working more reliable since LPX 10.1?
