  • Hi mplaster,

The best idea is to contact sales@vsl.co.at directly, my colleagues will find a quick solution.

  • International purchases are often declined by CC companies as a means of fraud protection, and require special arrangement with them to approve the purchase. Buying with PayPal avoides this problem.

  • Hi mplaster,

It seems that you unfortunately discovered a bug with a recent minor update of our web shop, which we fixed now. We already also sent you an email about this.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention, and I hope you can excuse the inconvenience this issue has caused!

    Kind regards,

    Stefan

  • Aahhhh  that is much better! Thank you for your quick attention to this!

Bought my extension pack and all is well again!
Feel free to delete this thread.

    Thanks again VSL!!!

  • I'm getting the same error here from FL. I called the CC company and they don't even show that a charge has been attempted.

  • Hi Dave,

Thanks for contacing us here. I already answered your email that you also sent to support. In short, we only accept Visa cards that are enrolled into Verified-by-Visa, and MasterCards that are enrolled into their SecureCode program, simply because it's necessary to protect ourselves against fraud. These programs are not so popular in the US yet as they are in Europe - please contact your credit card company or bank to see how you can enroll.

As far as I know, by January 2016, all US credit cards need to be enrolled in such a program, to make online shopping safer for both customers and shops.

As an alternative you can also pay via PayPal in our web shop, or contact us if you want to try an order with your credit card in our back office.

    Best,
    Stefan

  • Hi guys - no matter what method I try (credit card, debit card, paypal) your site rejects my order saying payment declined or not authorised.

I'd really rather not have to give my money to an inferior competitor, but this is getting silly now.

    Hi Bob,

I believe I have just replied to your request via email- in any case I'm sorry to hear of your problem when placing an order in our web shop!

We've had a few cases lately where the credit card wouldn't be charged successfully in our web shop, but when charging it in our backoffice it worked perfectly - according to our payment provider this is often due to restrictions for online and/or foreign transactions that some credit card companies have.

Kindly note that for safety reasons we only accept MasterCard and Visa cards that are enrolled in a secure payment program. This means that ordering with MasterCards only works if you're enrolled in the MasterCard “SecureCode” program, and Visa cards only work if you're enrolled in “Verified by Visa”.

Detailed information on secure payment and enrollment is available on your credit card’s website:

Visa (Link for customers from the US)

    MasterCard (US Link)

If the problem with payment persists, it usually helps to either use PayPal instead, or to call your bank and to ask about Verified-by-Visa or MasterCard SecureCode, and to make sure that your card is not blocked for charges from Austria. Usually, banks can unblock your card temporarly for specific charges to your card.

I hope you can excuse the inconvenience this issue has caused!

    Best,
    Stefan
