  • Notion user interested in VSL String section

I do my composing in Notion, and I'm now considering purchasing a Vienna string section.

Currently, how I import extra instruments into my Notion scores is loading them into Kontakt and then adding Kontakt staves into the score.

Can this be done with Vienna? How do notation program users use Vienna?

    Thanks,

  • Hello zeeshan123!

I moved your post to a new thread, as I didn't see any connection to the previous posts in the thread you have originally posted in.

The Vienna Instruments come with their own player and cannot be loaded with Kontakt or other 3rd party samplers.

Notion comes with playback rules for the Special Edition and Special Edition PLUS volumes. So these instruments can be integrated in Notion easily and the articulations will get changed automatically according to your notation marks. More information about the Special Editions can be found here:
    http://www.vsl.co.at/en/Instruments/Special_Editions

If you are only interested in Strings, you might want to start with the Special Edition Vol. 1 Strings and maybe add Special Edition Vol. 1 Strings PLUS, SE Vol. 2 Strings and SE Vol. 2 Strings PLUS.

Please note that our software needs the Vienna Key.

    Best regards,
    Andi
