  • [SOLVED] CAB files won't unpack

    Hi everyone,

As a newbie I'm apparantly stuck in the installation proces...

After succesfully installing my libraries tot a separate SSD, I cannot get the CAB-files to unpack (automatically and/or else). Obviousy none of the sampled instruments patches a/o presets are therefore showing up in Vienna Instruments a/o PRO 2...

Could somebody help me out, pls?

I'm running VSL with OSX Yosemite, by the way.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ton

    Hi Tony,

Just a quick guess: You have assigned the INSTALLATION DATA (*.cab files) in the Directory Manager.
But you need to INSTALL your collections first, the actual SAMPLE CONTENT is extracted from the highly compressed *.cab files and is transformed into *.dat files.

Check the Download Manager Manual (in MyVSL) for a more detailed description of the download and installation process (basically, simply finish the download and, if you deactivated "Auto-install" => click "Install" manually for each collection).

Alternatively, you can also install the Sample Content with the LIBRARY INSTALLER you find in your Vienna Instruments Applications Folder.

If that doesn´t help, please contact us at , with a link to this thread.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Thanks for the swift response, Paul. I really must say the support at the VSL-offices is outstanding, in my opinion!

Nonetheless I indeed have fowarded a separate email to 'support' with some screenshots included.

    All the best,
