  • Solo Voices

Wow, solo voices is what I was looking for these days, and the announcement couldn't come at a more perfect time!! [:)] When is this scheduled to be released?

  • Obviously they haven't said when...

  • Wow is right! I'm amazed to see VSL tell us in advance. I love the transparency!

Every other week I tempt my wallet on the recorders and VEP. But I don't know if I can hold out on voices. It's very needed in the sampling world, especially to be done right. And I trust VSL to do voices more than what I've seen from other companies. I find word builders generally very unconvincing. Storm Choir actually has a fairly believable 'alternating quasi-word thingy'. I would love a similar option with VSL voices. But I do like the soprano choir as is currently. It's just as useful either way IMO.

    Very exciting! [:D]

  • Well I was always hoping for a wordbuilder coming from VSL :)

I think for having a good wordbuilder you need to have the following

*) Perfect Software doing which can be customized (So most probably a No-Go for Kontakt based Libs)

*) Massive amount of time for recording sessions (And and for choirs extremely high financial pre investment)

Just think how much it costs to have a significant amount of highly qualified singers, who need to be always all in the same room (per section) for immense amount of horus just thinging sylables :)

So I am totaly exciteded if VSL really takes this challange :)

So my wishlist would also include

     * youth voices (solo and choir)

     * word builder (to finaly get rid of EWQL Choir and this stupid play Engine),

     * the usual pristine VSL quality, and all the money to buy these libs :)

     * at least some sections for the full choir (does not need to be full dimension, 1+4+4 would already be great)

I currently only own the Sopranos (which i definitely love)  but i will have to visit VSL Page and forum now every day to get updates :)

  • So no word builder, but a nice price :)

    "So no word builder,"

OK than this is just another Step on the Stairway to Heaven of Vocal-Sampling.

("gut Ding will eben Weile haben")....

hold on VSL in other Libraries you have already shown to have the right concepts, the right software, the right ears, dont hesitate to "do it again"😉

You will surely hear it after you buy it  ðŸ˜ƒ

Just kidding... Hopefully they will post some audio demos soon.

  • Hi all,

since no one made demo I played the Song "Once upon a time" by using the Solo Voice Mezzo Soprano, Vienna Rieger Organ, MIR and the Whistler.

    LINK:

Merry Christmas and a happy new year! And have fun!

    Greetings Lars

  • Right on! Hey LAJ, do you think you could do a quick demo with only the soprano and alto with no intruments. I am very interested in hearing the raw voices!

    Regards,

    Richard

  • Hello again,

here's another example and this time I used the Solo Singers as Dimension Chamber Choir ... AND after the this example follow more examples fo each Singer (You see the Singer in the Picture from Left to right: Coloratura, Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano and Alto. For these Single-Examples I put each Singer in the Center to the Mic)

    Enjoy.

  • Hello

Dont you have a problem with playing high notes ? They do not sound nice, very synthetic

Are they sing by the right singer ?

  • Hi Cyril, the Voice you are referring to is the Coloratura Soprano. And compared to the following examples it is a very special and light Voice which is made for These high Registers but has a natural micy Character in These upper Regions; I agree. That's why I first muted it, but then I decided to integrate it for a comparision. To be honest, I am not The biggest Fan of the Tenor and the Coloratura Voice. But this is a matter of taste. And I am sure in the Future There will be Songs where the Coloratura Voice plays a role. My Favourits are the Mezzo Soprano and the Alto. The Alto is the last voice in the example and it just sounds beautiful. Best regards Lars

  • I find it a bit strange that VSL has not posted audio demos for Voices. They usually have audio demos, and even walkthrough videos showing their libraries.

I wonder what's taking them so long to post some audio demos of Voices ?  The Holidays, or something else ?

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. Was quite happy to purchase the complete voices bundle until I heard demos of the choir, and wondering if solo vocies are not brilliant.

  • Hi everybody,

We´re working on great demos, but also trying to spend some time with our families!
There was a lot of effort going into our brand-new website and finishing both the whistler and Solo Voices to have something ready for you guys for X-mas, we´ll catch up with more demos as soon as possible!

    Thanks for your patience!

  • Nice to read that my Demos prevent you from purchasing ... That was not my purpose. I had to Play from my old Macbook Pro and did it for Fun without any Automation ... So These Demos are not the Holly grale. Let me Tell you something very clear: Everybody will find HiIS Voice and you can not do anything wrong in purchasing the Solists. BR Lars
