Limiting keys used or loading a single sound

I'm wanting to use VSL in a particular way for a performance. Is there a way to turn off sounds or rather the keys on the keyboard in VSL so that you will only use certain sounds? I'm wanting to limit myself to just the snare drum sounds in the percussion patch. Is there a way to load just the solo snare drum sound? I realize this might be a newbie question and the answer is pretty simple but I'm not finding the way to do this very intuitive.

I don't really understand the question. If you want a snare drum patch, only load a snare drum patch...

I think what you want to do is to limit/alternate the play range and volume curve of an instrument, which is possible in Vienna Instruments PRO (click "try" to get a demo license).

Check out the video "Inspiration Presets for Vienna Instruments PRO" to see how you can, e.g., build "Inspiration Presets", as we call them.
