Hey, I own VEP 5, special edition strings, bosendorfer and the epic orchestra library. I have bought the instruments pro version I applied all librarie updates i could find on the user area. question: i can not find any sequence when i open the map: C:\Users\Public\Documents\VSL\Vienna Instruments Pro\Sequences When i look at the tutorial video´s on YouTube they state that i just have to update the libraries to have the sequences installed. So this was not the case for me. :-/ Any ideas on how i should proceed ? Or won´t i get any sequences because i have too few libraries ? system WIN 8.1 + cubase kind regards, R.

  • addendum. i just searched the forum, and it seems that it is correctly installed, since i have found patches for the violins that have a single row of various arpeggio´s. im i right that this is what is presented as presets ???? If so, please confirm. But that is very dissapointing, but ok in the meantime i figured out how the sequencer works so i ll guess i have to make them myself then. But it is a huge bummer that even presenting some midifiles is something that is not included in a package that presents sequencing functions for their sample player. Way to go, and a pitty that i did not put my money in the native intruments action strings... But i hope someone will be so nice to relieve me and tell me that i am wrong with my assumption... kind regards, R

  • Hello Roel,

I´m afraid that your assumption is correct, and that the SE Strings simply do not contain the articulations you need to make those arpeggio presets work. You need the bigger VI Collections to make use of these articulation matrices.

There are "only" chord matrices included with the Special Editions and VI PRO.

Sorry to have no better news.

    Best,

    Paul

  • OK, no prob, and tx for the answer. It is what it is, but functionwise the pro version does introduce the sequencer for the instruments i do have, and that was what i purchased. So perfect for that. The sequencer is ok. As said, i'll do it myself. And i do like the Vienna sound a lot. It it is vasly superior. For me the bummer is that even very simple midi arrangements (4x16ths and that kind of things), with the proper note lengths do offer a lot of extra playability with some of the variations(sta, def, trem) in live performances but they are not present. As said: I can make them myself, as i did with halion symphonic. One issue, for now and still very new with it, is that the machinegun effect is present. But some tweaking with note lengths does a lot. And if i could get RR on it, that would be great. kind regards, R.

  • Hey Paul, To have some extra articulations i then bought the strings section 1 plus. Everything went fine, but: In the presets and the matrixes i do find all the extra articulations, but they do not appear in the patches themselves. So in the matrix i see 18 different articulations, but in the patches i only see 8. Did i do something wrong ? kind regards, R.

  • The patch list looks a little bit misleading. It says "00 - Violins advanced", but what you see right below that are the SE1 patches. When you click on the tab that says "Violins advanced", it reveals a dropdown list where the patches from SE1+ appear.

  • :-) :-) woops... OK. I did find them now. Many thanks! kind regards, R.
