No VE Pro demo for new users?

Hi,

Maybe I am confused and missing something here--hopefully someone can help. I am trying to use the "Try" link to get the demo license for VE Pro 5 here:

But when I log in and try to get it, it says, "Demo licenses are only available if you have purchased and registered at least one Vienna Instruments Library product."

Is that true, that I have to have already purchased something else in order to get a demo license? I hope I am misunderstanding something here, because that kind of defeats the purpose of a demo. I am interested in VE PRO as a host for VST plugins I already own, but I do not have any intentions to buy any VI Libraries to just use it.

Can anyone help me here, or am I just out of luck?

unfortunately we had to disable the option to get software demos without having a library registered - certain individuals thought it would be a good idea to get a bunch of demos to work with the software for free over months.

the most inconveniant thing was that they left faked and not even existing email addresses in our database rsulting in a pile of non-delivery-reports.

on this occasion a big thank-you to them for the additional work.

Ah, I see. Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but I totally understand your position. Sort of a "this is why we can't have nice things" situation. :) I will send you guys an email. Thanks for the explanation--really appreciate it!

HI sockof gold,

Just sent you a demo license for VE PRO 5. Please remember that you will need a ViennaKey or another eLicenser key (Steinberg, Arturia) to store the demo license on.

These demo licenses work for 30 days/30 starts.

Once the 30 starts are used up, you can recharge them as often as you like by clicking "Maintenance" in the eLicenser Control Center (within 30 days).

Hi, Is it possible that I too get a demo? I misread "purchased and registered at least one Vienna Instruments Library product" as any Vienna product and bought myself a Vienna Key. Looks like I might need it anyway. edit: I sent a message to support Thanks!

I have answered your email.

In short:

You have created a user account, but you have not registered a ViennaKey yet (you need it to store your licenses on, also demo licenses).

Alternatively, you can also use a Steinberg or Arturia Key, if you have one or can get one faster (they are usually available in music stores, and it´s the same copy protection system, "eLicenser").

Hi Paul, I too would really appreciate the chance to try the demo. Iv'e beena mac user for many years but decided to go ahead and get a PC for a slave. I'm almost decided to buy VE Pro , but it would be a great help to actually see a demo working on my new system and feel sure its something that I can get to grips with. I run logic on an aging imac with 4gb ram, but my new PC (i7 with 16gb ram) and VE Pro 5 will hopefully mean I can finally work from a template of sorts! I just checked your account, and as you have registered your ViennaKey already, I have just sent you a demo license for VE PRO 5.

Please also take a look at our Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 video tutorials in case you run into any trouble.

Kindly note that the demo license is a 30 days / 30 starts demo license, which means that it is loaded with 30 "starts" which can be renewed as often as you want within the 30 days demo period - simply click on "Maintenance" in the eLicenser Control Center to reload 30 starts to the demo license whenever you run out of starts.

I hope you'll enjoy using Vienna Ensemble PRO 5!

Hi again Paul, Firstly can I say thanks for taking the time to help me out. Unfortunately the link in your post takes me to a page where there are just manuals to download, but no demo software? To be more specific, There are three manuals available for download (11MB each)in English German and French and two "Changelog" files around 200KB each), a link at the top of the page for Epic Orchestra files and a "New System requirements" link on the top right of the page and that's it. I have tried the link you posted on both my PC and Mac and tried logging out and back in to my account on your site, but to no avail. Am I missing something obvious? How should I download the demo of VE Pro 5? Kindest regards Simon J Milner
