  • Solo Strings: Release samples on fast repetition and ricochet patches.

    Hi

I notice that, on the fast repetition and ricochet patches, the release sample sounds if I release a note, even if it has has been held down longer than the recorded sample. This means that I hear the sample, then silence (as expected), and then the release sample on releasing the key. Is this meant to be the case? It doesn't happen with my other VSL libraries, and It makes tempo changes very unpredictable.

    Thanks

    John

  • This happens with all VSL patches that are not looped. If you don't want to hear the release sample, switch it off. This can be done on the fly using a CC of your choice.

  • Thanks DG. I have a button on my controller assigned to the release samples, so I'll probably leave them off by default.

This doesn't happen in Dimension Strings, as the release sample is automatically muted if I overrun the sample.

  • I really wish some poor individual would go through each sample one of these days and find the end of each sample so that the script would no longer play a release note after a sample cuts off.  It does get to be a nuisance sometimes!
