    I noticed a Violins 2 folder in my Orchestral Violins patches.  Can someone tell me how these were generated  (new recordings, pitched-shifted samples, eq, etc.)?  I'm already using the alternate Violin II character preset in MIR to color my second violins, so I'm wondering if I should pull from this folder as well, or would the changes be redundant with character eq I chose in MIR?

    Hello Noel, 

    The Violins 2 are pitch-shifted samples. I personally always use similar articulations for second instruments, if no recorded alternative is available.

    Thanks Paul, exactly what I needed to know.

    I actually hadn't used the original orchestral strings since the days of gigasampler, and I was pretty amazed at how great they sound in MIR, especially with the Vienna Suite and MIRx presets applied.  I very cheerfully deleted another vendor's strings from my orchestral template.
