Hi all, I experience a weird bug where most of my synth plugin GUI turn white after a few minutes using VEP5. Obviously I can't do anything after this point since I don't see any of the parameters. It makes em untweakable, but I can still play them through midi…
Anyone experienced this before?
I'm using latest version of VEP5 on a slave MBP with osx 10.6.8 + Cubase 7.0.7
tx :)

synth plugin GUI turns white in VEP5
-
ok so it seems to happen when the main project is connecting with the remote server. When I first open the VEP5 template, the synths GUI is visible, but as soon as I open the main project in cubase and that the connection is made with the server, the GUIs turn all white and I can't seem to find a way to make em visible again, except if I delete the synths and reload em, which is not a good option for many obvious reasons… Am I the only one to experience that?

Hi Paul, please excuse the delay of my answer, I've been travelling for the past week. So I managed to try various scenarios today and although it does happen with every new project I can possibly create, I realized that it only seems to affect the Image-Line plugins I own. I should have verified with others as well before I posted and I apologize for that. I guess the problem might be in the Image-Line coding. It is anoying but at least it's not every plugin... Anyone else using Image-Line plugins on mac with more success? tx!

Hi Paul, I just exposed the problem on their forums so we'll see what they have to say... It looks like the plugin reloads whenever cubase and VEP5 connect and that's where the problem occurs. Btw, I spent a full day experimenting with various versions of the plugin and various scenarios and I found an ok compromise to use it: I have two perfectly similar channels loaded (same assignments, same fx, etc) and upon connecting VEP5 with the host, only one of the two will turn white (go figure!), so I'll mute it and run and tweak the other one. Of course if I tweak the synths parameters, I have to duplicate the settings before I re-save the mframe and vframe. It's more work but at least, it's not like loading an extra plugin loaded with huge sample files every time...
