  • Some questions

    Hello all,

I am new to the group. I've read the web site over and most of the previous posts. This looks like a great resource for a great product. I have a few questions:

    1. A press release I saw recently said that the pro release of the software would be 24-bit 96KHz. But the products page shows the pro release as still being 44.1KHz sample rate but with 24-bit precision. Which is correct? If 44.1KHz, will the product ever get to 96KHz?

    2. Re: the Mac version for EXS. Is the performance tool software ready for OS X? I saw in one of the posts that OS 9 would be first and then OS X. What is the current state of all this for the Mac?

    3. Is EXS format still on schedule for shipment this week?

Thanks very much. I've ordered the Demo Cube and am excited to see how that works.

It's great to see Herb posting here so much. It's rare to find the Chief of a company so active with customers at this level. Don't let that get away from you as you grow.

  • Hello dbudde,

thanks a lot for the ecouragement.
I really like to be here after more than five years sitting in my "sample tower".

We will release a 96 kHz version when sample engine ressource problems are solved (especially the RAM issue).

The OS9 and OS10 performance tool question:
Here I have (hopefully) good news for you. Emagic decided to implement our tools directly into their engine. So you will get a very userfriendly and stable solution.
But that means, that we have to wait for a logic update.
I hope I can give you more details after Frankfurt Musikmesse.
Personally I'm very happy that the emagic guys made this decision - Thanks a lot and greetings to Hamburg.

The Orchestral Cube should be ready this week. Here you don't have performance repetitions and legatos, so you can work properly without our tools.
If everything works fine it will ship in Europe after Frankfurt.

    best wishes
    Herb

  • Thanks Herb. Will the 96KHz version be a free upgrade to anyone who buys the Pro version?

  • One more question. I assume that version 6.0 of Logic does not implement your tools yet. So has Emagic informed you yet, which version will include this?

While I am here, it seems that several of your web site pages do not render correctly on a Mac under OS X 10.2.4. I have used current versions of Safari (1.0 v62), Explorer (5.2.2 (5010.1) and Netscape (7.01). All of these have some problems with this site. Just FYI in case you want to do something about that.

  • I hope I can give you detailed informations regarding EXS MKII performance tool implementation after Frankfurt.

No upgrade policy plans for the 96 kHz versions. It's too far away at the moment.

Maybe in the webstite issues forum our webprogarmmers could help.
(I don't know, if they read other topics)
