  • Special Edition, Volume 2 Concert Guitar Latency?

Hi, I just purchased Special Edition, Volume 2 Guitars & Keyboards, and I'm having a bit of a problem. When I play the Concert Guitar preset, it plays fine. But when I start to record it, I get latency like crazy. None of my other VSL instruments or any of my other VSTs do this. Does anyone have insight into this issue? Thanks, Mike

  • Are you loading it into a DAW or stand alone? If you're using a DAW, are you playing the notes in or programing them?  Also, are you playing through Vienna Instruments or Vienna Ensemble?

  • Hi, thanks for replying. I'm using Presonus Studio One as my DAW, playing the notes on my Alesis Q49 keyboard, using the latest Vienna Ensemble (not Pro). Mike

  •  Are there other instruments loaded into this instance of Vienna Ensemble (the mixing host software) and are they having latency issues?

  • Solo violin, harp, glock. All play and record fine. However, I then went an added Cembalo, also from Keyboards and Guitars Special Edition, and it has the same issue. Is it possible a corrupt or bad download could cause this issue?

  • Update: Stated a new song and the instrument plays and records fine, so I don't know what was going on. Maybe that song didn't need concert guitar in it, ha ha. If the issue starts appearing on other songs, I'll revisit this thread. Thanks for your assistance! Mike

  • Try playing the guitar from a midi keyboard just using VE. Don't have any other software loaded. If it plays OK then there is nothing wrong with the SE files.

It would help if you posted the specs of your computer: Memory Size, Processor, OS and hard drives. I'm assuming that you have your VSL samples on a seperate drive that is just used for playback of samples?

Hi, Here are my specs. It's a dual core Pentium , 6 GB RAM, 2 external drives for my instruments, and have the VSL volumes split between the 2 (strings, percussion, keyboards, guitar on one and brass, winds on the other). Windows 7. The issue never happens when I play, just when I record. Thanks, Mike

  • Are you using one of those drives to record on as well?

Hi No, I'm recording to my primary drive. My drives are SATA. Also, I see that I mistyped early. My drives are internal, not external.
