  • Will Vienna Suite run on my new system?

I will be building a new system (I pre-ordered the i7-4790K, it was released on 6/26 but won't be arriving until 7/3 - ouch!) hopefully the end of this week, but since special pricing on Vienna Suite ends 6/30 (tomorrow!) I won't be able to test the software on my new system before the pricing expires. So I'm hoping to get some guidance.

    The new system:

    i7-4790K 4.0

32 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance RAM

SSD's for samples but not for OS and programs

    Cubase 7.5

    MIRx

Should this system be enough to run Vienna Suite in combination with the MIRx for, say,  50 orchestral tracks?

Synchron - Woods, Brass, Perc I, Str Pro, Elite Str, Duality Str & Sordino, Prime Studio - Woods, Perc, Solo Str, Ch Str, Orch Str, App Str, Harps, Choir Studio Dim - Brass, Strings VE Pro, MIR Pro 3D, Vienna Suite Pro Cubase 14, Studio One 6, Dorico 5
  • to play 50 simultanous instruments ?

it will depends how complex is the score.

on my side it looks a bit short if the score is very complex and fast  ! What does the other thinks ?

You will see, you may have to add a slave !

Vienna Suite won't be challenging this system, as long as you don't plan for using an instance of Hybrid Reverb on each channel. ;-D

Regarding MIRx, it will depend a lot on the audio system's latency.  With latencies around 1024 samples (@44.1 kHz), 50 instruments won't make your new computer sweat. With "close-to-real-time"-values (like 64 samples latency) this might be different.

Sidenote: Be aware that MIR(x) benefits quite a bit from fast RAM, too. Yours seems to be up to the task! 😊
