Following the variations on the Beethoven (Ode to Joy) theme, I was commissioned a few works, one of which is by Ukrainian concert pianist, Pavel Gintov, to write a similar piece based on a Ukrainian traditional melody. I was given several pieces to chose from, I chose: "The mighty Dnieper roars and bellows".
It is an honour for me to know that Pavel Gintov will be recording this work and is currently preparing to give the first public performance of it.
