  • Question with VSL and Sibelius 7.1.3

    Hi There,

I'm new to VSL, not to Sibelius.

I have the soundsets of the "needful things" page of this installed (MAC).

I can not get VSL in sibelius to play the 1. and 2. violins properly. I tried dofferent things:

To give them different midi channels (v1 channel 10 and V2 channel 12).

to do that AND to set them on different instances of the VSL Ensemble player.

Nothing works, I cannot two violins sections play together. Wich is the most basic need for any orchestral sound. Working on it 3 days now without any clue and I really am unhappy with this.

If anybody could tell me whta I'm doing wrong and what I have to do to get this right I'm very thankful!

    Sincerely

    Martin

  • Hello Martin!

It can have different reasons why such a problem occurs. Please check the following things:

    - Did you reserve a program/channel for both violins on the Manual Sound Sets page?
    - If you have made output or channel assignments in the Sibelius mixer, please reset all outputs to (Auto) there. Making manual settings in the Sibelius mixer can mess up the playback.
    - Did you load the Special Edition matrices in Vienna Ensemble?

Further help can be found in the Troubleshooting section of the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual, which can be downloaded here:

    Best regards,
    Andi
