  • Dimension String Violins download-stays at 100% and no install ready status.

    Hello,

I'm brand new to the VSL community and very excited to use my Dimension Strings. I've successfully downloaded the other 3 elements (Viola, Cello and Double Bass preview) and after reaching 100% on the Vienna Download Manager the status changes from "Downloading" to "Install". I've deselected the auto Install feature since I will receive my VSL License Key in the mail in a few days, but want to get ahead on the downloading aspect.

For the Violins, it reached 100%, but never progressed to the "Install" status and is always a few seconds away on the ETA and downloads really slow (1kb/s and sometimes fluctuates slightly higher) and then to even longer ETA (such as 2 hours). I noticed that when I quit Vienna Download Manager and restart my download speed increases. Upon restart, it rechecks each section before resuming the dripping slow download of my Violins. Since the other items were already downloaded, I removed them from the download manager (not remove and erase data) to save time on the rechecking.

Unfortunately, my download speed for the remainder of my Violins didn't improve.

I'm currently downloading the Violin section again to see if it will go all the way through this time. My question is this: Do all the items (Violins, Violas, Cellos and Bass preview) have to be seen inside the Vienna Download Manger to install? If so, how do I get the items back in if they are still on my computer. I'm hoping that I can and once I get the license key, there is a simple way to do the installation. F.Y.I- my violin folder that already downloaded is 35,895,934,553 bytes (35.9 GB for 27 items). I noticed inside the folder are the .cab files 01 through 26, but no full Dimension-Strings_Violins_full_files.txt or package.info. I realized this by looking at the other successfully downloaded folders and noticing what was missing in my Violin download. Please advise, thanks!

  • Hi rdhornst,

You are probably working on Win 7 or 8, is that correct?

I assume that some firewall setting is playing a trick here...

To download the Dimension Violins, you only need the Dimension Violin files.

Please contact me at  and we´ll provide you with an alternative download.

    Best,

    Paul
