  • How Best To EQ A Celesta

    Hi all,

I'm currently recording some of my songs in high quality using VSL samples, having written them on Sibelius with GM-1 sounds. While I don't doubt that the key noise on the VSL celesta standard hits is realistic, it presents a problem for me as the GM-1 celesta has much quieter key noise, and so the key noise now sounds out of place in the song. Is there any particular production treatment recommended for getting rid of celesta key noise? Am I best to just EQ out everything below about 850Hz, or is there a clever way of compressing it or something similar to reduce the noise but leave the low registers more intact?

    Many thanks!
