  • +1 Does VEP5 mean you can have 5 slaves? Bolla.

You can always have as many slaves as you like. The "5" is just a version number, and VE PRO 5 will come with 3 licenses, just as VE PRO 4, the current version.

  • plus '8' for mas support (There are 8 on our team!)

  • +1 many many times over!!  Very interested in this workaround.  Any idea when VEPro 5 might launch?

  • Just out of curiousity - does this mean we can also have more audio channels returned (instead of the current 16) or will that remain a limitation?

  • +9 or whatever. Let's do this, Paul! ;)

  • MAS or VST3... anything that fixes the event plug in oddities with DP :)

  • If you want VST3, you need to talk to MOTU.

  • +1 for MAS!  Is it still a long ways off Paul?

  • Being a long time DP user, I recently tried out Cubase 7  (the free trial).  Spent a few days basically mirroring my template that I have in DP (700+ midi/audio tracks) and i'm not sure if it's the VST3 use of Cubase or that Cubase is just that much better, but the stability and performance I got was pretty amazing.  I had the template FULLY loaded, and was able to keep a buffer of 256 and the CPU meter was barely sweating.  I never thought my Mac Pro could accomplish such a feat.

In DP, I have a downsized template of about 300 midi and audio tracks.  (using about 36 of the Event Inputs) and it can barely handle that at 1028 buffer..  the CPU freaks out about every few hours and I have to restart..

Not sure if a MAS version would help, or if DP could do VST3 (i know that's on their side)  but it's a shame that seemingly these Event Inputs bring down DP like they do.  Plus all the problems with Drop notes, hanging notes, etc.   I am greatful for the Event Input work around though.. I know it's just a band-aid to the stupid AU limitation..

It is still on the to-do list, but we have seen a very limited interest in MAS-Support, as you can tell by this thread (opened in 2011, with 12 users contributing)....

I have talked to our developers, and I´m afraid I have to tell you that MAS Support is not a priority for the foreseeable future.

Sorry that I don´t have better news here.
