  • Hello Fabio!

Unfortunately I have to confirm that Finale 2014 has a few new bugs in the Human Playback area. One bug seems to be about the name filter and keeps the Human Playback Preferences for the Special Edition from working correctly. I have already informed the MakeMusic team.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Thank you very much Andi.

    Great support as usual!

  • Hi Andi, can you be more specific?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Bill!

The Human Playback Preferences for the Special Edition contain the filter "If Device name contains: Vienna" for all articulations. This filter doesn't seem to work correct with Finale 2014 anymore. Although all our instrument plugins contain "Vienna" in the name, they do not pass the filter. If the filter gets removed, the articulation changes work.

    Andi

  • Thanks Andi. You used "bugs" in plural. Anything else to know about?

  • Hi Bill!

Steve (winknotes_282) mentioned another problem on the Dynamics page of the Human Playback Preferences in the other Finale 2014 thread. For me 'CC11 + velocity' doesn't work at all.

    Andi

  •  Dynamics are working fine for me. Interesting.

  • Hi Bill!

Velocity is working ok, but CC11 doesn't work here. Can you confirm, that CC11 is working on your computer?

    Andi

  • Yes it is. When I insert a hairpin in the score I can watch the Exp slider moving appropriately.

  • Hi there! I can also confirm that the expression control CC11 is working fine with me (see the slider moving correctly) on Finale 2014. The tragedy is that there's no such thing as articulation changes, i.e. CC1 doesn't work here. Could anyone tell me if he has encountered the same problem, any ideas how to overcome it? Thanks in advance!

  • Andi address that above...

  • Hi Bill! There's an additional layer in the mess here. The Finale 2014 itself doesn't recognize his articulations when using his own Garritan sounds, except for the staccato. Of course I've already written a nice letter to makemusic, but I wonder if you have experienced the same crucial problem or if you have heard about such complains from anybody else? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, I, for one, have reported at least 7 serious issues with HP. At least 2 with no workarounds, hence back to 2012.  All have now been acknowledged by MM as software defects.  However, I would be surprised if they will give any priority to fixing those.  Someone suggested that VSL should buy Makemusic and take over the Finale development.  With VSL's excellent standards, that would really be a blessing... BTW in 2014 under the Dynamics tab CC11+Vel actually generates CC7, and vice versa...
