Saxophone staccato (Sibelius)
I've just installed Saxophones standard library, and can't get a staccato in Sibelius. I loaded the "Woodwind PRESET Files" in the Vienna Ensemble window; I'm using "VE Woodwinds + Brass" sound set in the Sibelius Playback Devices dialogue; I imported "Vienna Symphonic Library" house style; yet it won't play written staccatos. What am I missing? Thanks, Clare

Hello misterclare!
Please use the VI preset "D57 Soprano Sax" that was installed in the folder Sibelius/Woodwinds+Brass/Download Instruments/Download Standard Instruments
The sound sets only work correctly with the VI presets that come with the sound set installer.
Best regards,
Andi

Still not working, because the new sound sets don't appear as an option in the pop up menu in the Sibelius Playback Devices window. I copied "D57 Soprano Sax" (and the other sax files), to the Sibelius Sounds folder, the same folder where the (working) sound sets for my Vienna Solo Strings live, and restarted, rebooted, repaired permissions, but Sibelius doesn't seem to see it. I wonder whether their being .fxp files is something to do with it? The working sound sets are .xml files, and the Sibelius documentation only mentions .xml sound set files. Best, Clare

Hello Clare!
It seems to me you are confusing sound sets with VI presets. In the Sibelius Playback Devices menu activate Vienna Ensemble and assign the sound set "VE Woodwinds+Brass". In the Vienna Instruments load the VI presets that were installed by the sound set installer. In your case "D57 Soprano Sax". Don't copy or move sound sets or VI presets. They get installed at the place where they should be.
Best,
Andi

That is exactly what I did. Everything works now. Thank you for your time and patience. Best, Clare
