  • Vienna Mir on Slave PC

    Hi everybody,

I just want to get an opinion about running MIR pro on a slave PC computer ( 6 cores , 32 G Ram, only SSD ). I am forced to buy an Imac ( probably the basic late 2013 i5 one, since the i7 is ridicously expensive) due to the fact that I need to instal Noteability Pro . I know probably you're asking why all these, since I have a powerful Win machine..well, apparently Noteability Pro is running only on Mac- and I really need it for its potential to be integrated in MAX and so on..in fact my composition program requieres this.

If I use the above setup, of course with VE pro on both machines, can someone offer a sugestion about its succes? Is Imac i5 sufficient to drive the other win machine (win 8.1, 64 bit pro) with Mir pro on it?

Thanks a lot for any advice,

      Bogdan

Oops forgot to add: the setup intended to be used mainly for chamber arrangements - wiht all the samples on win machine

  • Hi Bogdan,

to me this sounds like a perfectly useful setup. The weaker machine (your i5) will send MIDI to the powerful PC which hosts your virtual instruments and MIR Pro. They will interact via LAN and use VE Pro as connection and common interface.

.. sounds good to me! :-)
