Hi there I am a new member, have successfully downloaded some files, and am having difficulty getting the vienna instruments standalone to recognize them. The folders that the files are contained in are showing in the directory manager, but even so, the vienna instruments interface is not able to find them.
The file extensions of the instruments are .dat.
The folder location is on my desktop at the moment.

Just wanted to elaborate on what DG (thanks!) is asking:
Did you make sure that your sample content is actually installed (*.dat files)?

nation: Your downloaded installation files (*.cab files, highly compressed) have to be installed (=extracted) to become the actual sample content.
In the installation process, the location of this sample content is added to your Directory Manager automatically.
Installation should start automatically if you have not turned off the "Auto-Install" Option in the Download Manager ("on" by default).
If the sample content is not installed yet, simply click "INSTALL" in the Download Manager, OR use the LIBRARY INSTALLER that is installed in your Vienna Instruments Folder and point it to the "package.info" file in your downloaded folder!
