  • Haven't figuired out how to load VE or VEP as a VST Instrument in Finale 2012

I have a new laptop I'm setting up with all of my software including Vienna Instruments, Vienna Instruments Pro, and Finale 2012. I have the latest versions of each. Problem I am having is Finale isn't recognizing VE or VEP as a VST. I did this before with older versions on a different PC but I no longer have it available to compare. So where is the directory that has the VST dll files? I feel stupid asking, but I'm getting tired of looking. Thanks for the help!

  • Hello twh7458 and welcome to the forum!

You have to tell Finale where to look for plugins. This can be done in the menu MIDI/Audio/Device Setup/Manage VST Plug-ins.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • I think he's asking where they are so he can make that setting. I create my own folder setup, so don't know what the default location is.

  • Thanks for the help! I had assumed the VST was in the Installation directory but they were not. So, I started the VEPro installation again up to the point it showed me the installation location for the VST which happened to be in my Steinberg Cubase VST folders. Thanks again!
