    I'm in the market for a highly localised microphone (pref. vocal). What kind of microphones where used in the creation of VSL libraries to get that incredibly dry sound? Thanks.

    I'm not so sure the mics have much to do with capturing "that incredibly dry sound."  I could be wrong but I thought it was the way the silent stage was constructed.

    I don't know of any mics that reduce ambience unless they are pre-EQ'ed for that.
