    Hi and thanks in advance for reading this :)

    I am in a technological pickle with a deadline (of course!). I have been running VSL special edition for a few years successfully from a LACIE external hard drive. Last night I was using VSL with Logic 9 and it was working perfectly - absolutely no issues. Today I cannot illicit a preset from VSL. I did clean up my Mac yesterday (before the aforementioned smooth running Logic session) and I am wondering if this is a routing issue - maybe the VSL on the external is no longer 'speaking' to my Macbook Pro (I'm running 10.6.8 and DO NOT have automatic updates enabled). Logic sees the VSL ilok and permissions but the presets seem to have disappeared. I have performed a disk repair on my Mac today as per suggestions posted online but still, no dice.

    Please flood me with your thoughts!

    Hi sij,

    Please open the Directory Manager (find it in "Applications" (OS X) => then "Vienna Instruments").

    Remove all folders - then add all sample content again by drag and drop from your Finder/Explorer. More information about how the Directory Manager works can be found in this video.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for your response.

    I believe I have followed your directions and the directions from the video but the presets are still not loading. The VSL is now not showing up as an option within Logic. When I try to open the stand alone player on either volume (Mac or HD), the following error message appears -"The application Vienna Instruments Standalone.app can't be opened -1712)" ANY more thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE,

    I have managed, (after updating elicense software and deleting/adding signal paths for the library several times) to successfully load the stand alone player and to locate VSL samples within Logic. Hooray! Thanks so much for your help with this. My final question.... I cannot HEAR the vsl samples anymore within logic -I've checked all of the usual suspects - muting, preferences etc. ANy thoughts?

    FIXED. Relaunched everything and success.
