Tweaking Question for real time performance

Hi,

I'm using 2 trombone articualtions... one in each cell of a matrix. One is legato and the other is staccatto.  I use a sustain pedal that sends CC88 to switch between them.  When I'm not stepping down on the sus pedal it's staccato and when I step down I get the legato.  All working great!

My question is I want to assign my mod wheel to control the dymanics of "Only the legato articulations" not the staccatto.  For the staccatto I still want to still trigger dynamics with velocity.  When I assign Expression to be modulated by CC1 it controls/targets both the sustain and staccato articulations.

Any thoughts on what I can do?

'expression' doesn't mean you have obviated velocity, it just means you have made it louder/softer, pretty much as a volume control. what you can do is work with the velocity scaling per the cell containing the staccato articulation to mitigate the effect of expression
