Vienna Suite Plug in Request

Hello all,

First of all, I've been using the Vienna Suite plug-ins and they have had a profound impact on my music and recordings.  Recording engineers who know that I'm recording from a pretty simple home studio set up, have listened to my stuff and are perplexed as to how I achieve the sound quality that I'm able to achieve.  "What are you using?" they always ask me.  When i tell them they are just amazed.  One common theme that comes up is that they say that the music sounds almost three dimensional.  Not sure what means exactly but it's a compliment all the same.

Anyway, I have a question and/or comment.  My recording experience comes more form the Electronic/Pop world rather than orchestral and, from my experience, we always use multiband compressors rather than multiband limiters. 

What's the difference between the two?  Why would you use one over the other?

I've noticed the multiband compressors give the sound a punchy crisp and clean quality that may only be desired for Pop stylings due to the demands of radio play but I'm not sure exactly what a multiband limiter does to the sound.

Will there be plans to expand on the Suite with other plug-ins such as a Multiband compressor, M and S Exchange, Seperator, etc.

VSL will most certainly expand Vienna Suite, but it's too early to announce any details already.

Not quite. The "Limiter"-button of Vienna Suite's Multiband Limiter engages an additional full-range brickwall limiter on the output, to avoid overloads (... mind you: The Multiband Limiter itself is _not_ from the brickwall variety - otherwise there wouldn't be variable attack times),

So the ratio is the difference[I]  That makes sense.  So whether to use one or the other really doesn't matter all that much unless you have a need to set threshholds on the frequency ranges to avoid clipping[^o)]  At least that's how I understand it.

my reduction of it is, a limiter is a compressor with more potential in the ratio. I'm sure my reduction there wasn't so accurate but I do think of limiting in terms of brickwall, before that it's a compressor to me. I use the VS Limiter for overload protection as a brickwall.
