  • Newbie - bug with one of my AU's within VEP5

Hello, I just purchased VEP5 and I have managed to set it up well except I have a bug with one particular plugin. It just happens that hosting this plugin is the reason I bought VSL. The plugin is "EVENT HORIZON" by Stillwell Audio and here is my problem. - I can insert this Effect and it works well until I close my project and open it up again
    - Whenever I load my VEP5 project up, this plugin is muted and no audio signal seems to go into it (the plug-in's internal VU meters don't move)
    - If I "bypass" the plugin, I hear my unaffected signal I'm guessing when the project loads up, there's something with this specific plug-in that does not initialize it properly. I do not have this problem with any other plug in, but unfortunatley for me, this 32 bit plugin is the whole reason I purchased VEP5. Any assistance you can give me would be appreciated.

  • Hi neonstereo,

Which OS and software versions are you working on?

    Thanks,

  • This happens pretty often with IKMM Amplitube 2 if there is more than one instance of it in an instance of VE Pro. Half the time, I'd say.

  • Hi,

So, which software version of Amplitube 2? [:)]

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi neonstereo,

I could just reproduce this behaviour with the "Event Horizon" plug-in from Stillwell, and talked to our developers.

The best idea is to let my colleagues at Stillwell take a look at this, as we cannot see what´s going on in the plug-in itself.

We´ll be happy to provide them with a demo license for testing and fixing.. simply contact

    Best,

    Paul

    X-Gear

    Latest version: 1.5.1
    Released on: 11-30-2009

I have informed them of this, and that Amplitube 3 has the show-stopping issue of a complete inability to browse in VEP. EDIT: AHA! That has been fixed.

the issue I bring up here has been true in every version of VEP I've ever used. Where there is more than one instance, it's a crapshoot whether or not audio gets through one or the other, or both. It seems like the more instances the higher chances of failure there were. It could happen during a render. It's maddening, sometimes involving several restarts as though I'm trying to get lucky.
