Dear Guys,
apologise if this was asked before but I could not really find an answer in past posts and internet.
I have some DI Standard woodwinds and sometimes I have the impression of not having enough bite or attack in some of the staccato layers at high velocities (while I am instead totally satisfied with velocities in legato patches, even with Xfade activated).
So, I wonder, also taking the opportunity of the ongoing winds sale...
Does anyone know if there is a difference in terms of sample layers for short-note patches between for instance a standard DI contrabassoon and the same instrument from the Standard Collection? If yes, would the DI Extended add-on bring it to the same sample depth of a Collection instrument? I mean they are different (Collection and DI) until I upgrade to Extended or it just a matter of articulations?
I am more interested now in the depth and realism of the soundm especially at higher velocities, instead of the amount of articulations.
I am asking this also about brass, since I would like to add some low brass instruments (i.e. Bass and Cb Trombones) to add some accents, bite and definition to my brass choir.
Many thanks for any clarification.
All the best,
Alessandro
