  • SOLVED Switching from Mac Pro to Macbook Pro

    Hi there

I have an elderly but reliable 2006 Mac Pro 2Gb RAM, 10.5.8, with Special Edition extended on it.... its been overhauled spec wise by a big margin by my 2011 Macbook Pro, 10.6.8, with a whopping 16Gb ram.

Thanks to some advice here, I've established that I can switch my Vienna between the computers - NOT using both simultaneously - which would suit me to access old material, or work on music which doesn't require many VI's.

I've copied my Vienna Instruments folder to an external FW drive, and installed the latest License Centre software. The key is recognised along with my licenses. All seems fine.

However, I am concerned that when I install the new version of the VI player software, it will require an update of the key which might make it incomaptible with going back to the Mac Pro. Can anyone offer any insight on this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

Yes, you can use your ViennaKey on different computers, no need to update anything but the software on your computer. The licenses stay the same.

    Best,
