  • Vienna Imperial Sustain Behaviour

I've been trying out Vienna's Imperial on Trysound, I think it's the most realistic piano vst I've tried, however I'm a bit disappointed by a couple of things, the biggest being that the sound of the sustain resonance does not seem to appear when the pedal is depressed after a note is played - on other instruments the sustain resonance sound is added, as would be the case on a real piano. With Vienna the non-sustain sample seems to continue to play unchanged. Can someone confirm that this behaviour is not correctly set up for Imperial?

  • Hi Owen,

Did you check the "2sus" option in the lower part of the interface, to the left of the Velocity Histogram. As this option in increases streaming demands, we have switched it off by default.

  • Hi Paul, thanks for the quick response. I don't see this option on the trysound interface, maybe they are using an older version of the software? If this functionality has been added that's great...

  • Hi Owen,

Yes, it has been added indeed. You can always contact Trysound and ask them to update the software.

I will also let them know.

  • Hi,

I have just heard back from TrySound. They will update Imperial with the next round of updates (could take a while).

    Best,

    Paul
