  • No sound from room tone channel

Hi, I'm having trouble getting the room tones to work properly in VE Pro/MIR. I didn't have any problems until yesterday, but after installing the latest version of VE Pro, I no longer get any output from the Room Tone channel. The channel appears in the channel list, and everything is turned on; there's simply no output, even when the volume is turned all the way up. I'm hoping I just missed something obvious after reinstalling. Any insight on the matter would be much appreciated.

    Best,

    Brian

As I use MIR Pro on an almost daily basis, I can asure you that this must be a simple little glitch. 😊 I'm sure that we'll sort it out quickly.

The most obvious questions: Is VE Pro's audio engine started at all? Has the RoomTone channel been switched off unintentionally (the blue button in the Channel list to the left)? Is the RoomTone channel routed to the main output? Does this problem happen with all Venues, or just a certain one? Does the problem only happen with a certain Output Format?

In addition: Please supply information like CPU, RAM size, OS, audio system, drivers, VST/AU host, VSL software build numbers etc. - Screenshots and a copy of a VI -frame which shows the issue would be helpful, too.

Please send all of this to . The support-team will look at it after the weekend. Thanks!

    Kind regards

  • Hi again,

I haven't heard from anyone, so I thought I'd bump this thread.

  • Hi Brian,

sorry to hear that - I already asked VSL's support team to search for your mail.

    Thanks for your patience!

  • Thanks, Dietz!

  • Florian informed me that this is indeed a bug with the latest build.

    Thanks again!

  • Just wanted to chime in that I've noticed the same problem.  I did a lot of testing with different sessions and settings and could not get any room tone.  It is a recent problem, so I agree it is probably only with the latest build.  Until an update I'm getting my room tone from other sources.

Oh, and I have an idea for an improvement.  It would be nice if the room tone would automatially mute when the transport stops.  It can get annoying to have it always on when you're working on something else.

  • I had this same problem. Turns out that the latest build of MIR neglected to include the room packs. I was sent a zip file containing a custom build and was told that a new build was in the pipeline. Excellent customer service as usual!
