  • vienna special edition and reverb

Hello everybody, I am completely new here. Please don't be angry if I ask about something obvious.. I am going to buy tommorow Vienna Special edtition vol. 1. I researched every aspect of this samples, but only one thing still is keeping my considerations and don't let them go. Vienna Special edition doesn't have effects of reverb, effects are included in Vienna Suite, which is far away from my budget now. Is it possible to make good and naturally sounding reverb for free or cheap without buying Vienna Suite?.. Does Vienna Special Edition volume 1 has even simple , but good, effect of reverb? I bought Cubase 7 Artist, which will come to me tommorow, maybe this DAW has good enought reverb? Does somebody has experience with using something else? Please , help me, I would be glad :)

  • You are correct that the samples are dry, however Vienna Instruments does include a reverb now.  Reverb is OFF by default for each instrument but easily turned on and controllable with CC14 by default.

So even with a tight budget you'll have everything you need.

  • As previously mentioned, the VI Player does come with a simple reverb.  There are also a lot of free reverb plugins out there that you could look into, though obviously none would be as high-quality as in the Vienna Suite or in MIR.  But you could very easily use free impulses online, and I believe that even Cubase comes with some kind of reverb, where you could then even load free impulses from all over the internet.  Though I do suggest eventually getting Vienna Suite or MIR because the level of quality is extremely high in both.

  • Ok, thanks for replying, I actually consider now buying Vienna Suite also, even if it is so expensive.. But anyway, thanks a lot!

  • Guys, are you sure the basic Vienna Instruments player contains reverb? I thought that was only implemented in Vienna Instruments Pro.

    Hi Conquer,

Yes, we have added the Reverb to the redesigned Vienna Instruments.

Here is a link to the Video Tutorials.

    Best,

  • Thanks Paul, that's good news (I couldn't see it listed in the VI 'changelog').
