I play in a group and we have a sopranosax player that's one of the best in town. Wwe play a mixture of progressive rock and jazz. He plays folk music and godspel as well when other people call.
I'm sorry to say that your demo is maybe worst than the words of Julie.
It never, only for a moment, let me think "Hey, this is a real sax player!"
The other VSL demos I have listened to arevery goodbut this is far from real world. I'm sorry about writiing this but I have listened to it 4 times.
This is not for let you stop doing demos, please make another more real.
I look forward to hearing it soon!

Well, that sure showed him. [:D]

  • Well I am never coming back here again (you forgot to mention I smell bad) after I answer this post.

Believe it or not I have played wirh a sax player too. Actually I have played many gigs, tours and sessions with some of the worlds best as an L.A. based guitarist, composerr and arranger. I am not saying this sax should be replacing the real deal, but it is as good a facimile of a soprano sax as is available today.

Now I am never coming back....except maybe tomorrow ...or the next day. Hey
i bought a new bike....anyone want to see it?

  • ...its ok I guess, but you bought the wrong colour...

Keep trying though! We'll let you know where you're going wrong.

  • Hey Craig- When you think back on this thread, please do not recall be as someone bashing your stuff, becuase this was not the case at all.

My comments were solely comments regarding teh soprano sax and has nothing to do with your abilities to use it.

    Thanks

  • Maybe your sax player it's too friendly with you?
My intention was to make you getting better. When somebody says something rude, it's a big occasion for improving and let him see what you are able to do.
If you leave the forum, you are a looser, but if you do well, you are the winner.
(Sorry for my English, but I hope it is clear).
    Hear you again

Rule no. 1, you should never, ever call someone a "looser". That is simply an insult which is totally undeserved.

Secondly, Craig was joking when he said he was leaving.

We'll chalk this up to your limited vocabulary. [:D]

Looser! Are you feeling loose today Craig?

We'll chalk that up to your limited spelling. [:P]

noted Christian and thanks for your consideration.

In rereading your comments, I agree that the normal per_leg F patch is too bendy to use as a normal perf_leg like other VSL libraries but my demo could have easily been pulled off without all the bends. There are many work arounds to get a good result. I am not stating this for you directly, as you may be aware of this, but for others following this thread. The perf_ leg p plays normally as does the per- marcarto. I have given a few solo instances here.

If you can follow along there are 5 quick examples

    1. staccato
    2. perf_leg p
    3. perf_leg marc
    4. A short sax...i added a bend with the porta patch at the end
    5. A straight sustain patch

Andy B has a demo here too now with a different approach

For those who like the tone or not, it is a given so this is what you get.

    Now to what's important....the ride

    just ordred

this will be my 2nd bike. i had been using my wifes torture chamber of a bike as a 2nd when my main one goes down, but had too many crashes on it because of the screwed up geometry to fit her. It is now a full suspension beach crusier [8-)]

I'll tell you what looser means, if you tell me what Ook means. Deal? [:P]

  • I use an old laptop for web. The keyboard often replays the same key.
The keys themselves are small. So it's easy to find word like room instead of rom or Good instead of God. English is not my mother tongue, so forgive me for my posts.

As for O-o-k, I was kidding about lo-o-ser...
    Thanks
