  • Convert Windows projects that included VEPro sessions to Mac

    Hi,

    I recently want to convert from Windows to Mac environment, and when I tried to open my windows project I found I ran into a problem.

    I use Ableton Live. And when I opened the project, VEPro on Mac conncted the server and instance is created normally. But then I recieve error messages that VEPro can't create the VST Plugins that was used in my Windows projects.

    I don't know if VEPro on Mac support VST plugins(I can't find any settings in Preferences). And after loading all the instrument channels in VEPro won't have any instrument on it.

    How can I convert my project from this situation. I really don't want to re-create every instrument plugin in VEPro because all the synth/sample prosets are saved within the project. I can't lose all that data..

  • VSL plugs should convert, but none others will. You will have to start again with a fresh project.

    when using Vienna Ensemble Pro under OS-X, VST plug-ins are not supported.

    I have now saved all my plugins as preset files and reload them in VEPro. (Luckily Spectrasonics is great in their products cross-platform compatibility:)

    Well I hope VEPro on Mac can support VST because there aren't AU on Windows :)

    But it's OK now I think because I am moving from Win to Mac. Although the projects' moving process is somehow painful. But at least it can be done.:)


  • You'll need to make sure you have AU versions of all your plugs properly loaded on your Mac.

    I use a Windows slave in one studio where I work, but not in the other (have to fly between the two and I can't carry the slave machine).  I go back and forth by using the same VE Pro project (they're cross-platform) and then loading the same plugs into the project.   You also (of course) have to make sure that you have saved whatever versions of the plugs, or can recreate them on the Mac.
