  • How would you realize a "Hinter der Szene"(Behind the scene) Ensemble in an orchestra...

I am just looking for good Ideas, how I would the most convincing realize an Ensemble "Hinter der Szene" (behind the scene) which is sometimes demanded in orchestral compositions. (All VSL Software MirPro, Vienna Suite, VE, 5, VI Pro is available) I have several passages in some scores where  such ensembles are demanded some are Choirs, other are winds one time it is an Harmonium and Choir.

There are always comparable Groups "on stage". Before I begin my setup, I would like to have some Ideas how this would be realized best in MIR.

    Thank you

  • Using MIR Pro, the most obvious option would be to use the "outside the hall"-HotSpot in Vienna Konzerthaus - Neuer Saal (... that's in the top right corner).

In general, all the remote HotSpots of the various MIR Venues will be a good choice. Just make sure to use much more wet signal than you would in a conventional setup.

Additionally, choosing the "Distant" Character Profiles will help to strengthen the impression, too. If this is not enough, try to soften the deepest bass and especially the treble of the signals be means of a shelving EQ.

Finally, you could use a transient-shaping dynamic processor (many DAWs offer one) for _weakening_ the initial attack of the signals. Like that, the signal will appear more distant.
