MIR uses a lot of processing power. If you want to play in real time, I would recommend not using MIR until you have finished recording your MIDI.

How would I do that? WHen I open VEP and insert an instrument or plugin it is automatically going through MIR, no? I have been using it in real time all along without trouble. But, if I can make things easier on my system, I'd like to try. How do you use VEP without MIR?
Thanks,
Mike
When the function "Auto add MIR PRO" is activated inside VE PRO each new generated instrument channel will have the MIR plugin automatically applied.
In that case you can bypass or delete the red "Vienna MIR PRO" plugin (which you can see below the SEND effects in the mixer view) with a right mouse click on the icon and select "Bypass" or "Delete".

Thank you all for your comments. I will try them all! I think I still don't completely understand how MIR and VEP work together, but I do know that the sound is great! I have just assumed that when you created a channel in VEP, and opened an instrument, that MIR was automatically applied. I need to read the manual again. I'm sure there are other things I am doing wrong as well.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas, frohe Weihnachten, joyeux Noël, ¡Feliz Navidad, or Happy Chanukah (I'll spare you the translations on that one!),

Sorry, yes I'd forgotten about this feature, so you could have MIR enabled, but it would sound very weird, as all instruments would be in the same place. However, do check, because that could be the cause of your problem.

Well - not necessarily so. As you can bypass MIR for each channel individually, you can just pull one instrument "to the front" while having everything else still sitting in place nicely.

Yes, but that would also imply that you knew that MIR was enabled in the first place, in which case the problem probably have arisen. [:P]

I have searched every preference for "Auto add MIR PRO" in VEP and I cannot find it. Where is it?
