I'm using the Vienna SE with the plus extension pack for the strings only. I have also added two extra presets in the lines menu to cope with these. The trills in strings play back correctly
What I completely fail to understand is that using the standard Sibelius trill line which I have not edited, non-strings will not play a "fake" trill as before with settings "If no matching sound available" set to "play trill". It simply ignores the instruction and just plays the note. This has happened only since I changed to the Vienna SE + soundset. Using the standard Vienna SE soundset, everything is as expected.
The house style is a slightly modified version of the one supplied but using the default house style (from the "needful things" page) the result is the same. (As an aside I have spent some time trying to get appropriate dynamic graduations using the SE and dynamic markings in Sibelius only, but this is another matter -- I hope really decent playback will finally be achieved when Steinberg introduce a proper scoring module into Cubase written by the ex Sib guys so we have the best of all worlds -- good notation software with first class MIDI/audio control of the best sound library on the market)
Can anyone shed some light on this?
