  • Sustain and articulation problems (Sibelius 7)

What's up everybody. There has been a problem with Sibelius 7 that has been annoying me a lot lately. If I have a special articulation notated (accents, slurs, stac. etc.), then the next note is a simple sustained note, it will play back that sustained note as if it were notated like the previous note was. For example, if i have a note played staccato, then the next note is a sustained note with no articulations notated, it will play that note staccato. It does this for every single instrument and it is getting quite bothersome. I have all the right house styles imported, all the right sound ID's for every instrument, nothing seems to be arranged wrong with the VST, but this problem still persists. PLEASE HELP! I thank you in advance.

  • Hello ADWasinger!

This is not a common problem. If you want to, you can send your Sibelius score and your Playback Configuration (xml file and Data folder) to support [at] vsl [dot] co [dot] at and I will take a look at it. Depending on your OS the Sibelius Playback Configurations are located in one of the following folders:
    Windows XP: Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Avid\Sibelius 7\Playback Configurations
    Windows Vista, Windows 7 or 8: Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Sibelius 7\Playback Configurations
    Mac OS: Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Avid/Sibelius 7/Playback Configurations

Under Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8 the Users/your username/Library folder is hidden by default. To get access go to the folder Users/your username. Then choose Go/Go to folder and enter “Library”.

    Best regards,
    Andi
