  • Vienna Suite Compressor Knee (Q value)

Hi, Does the Vienna Suite Compressor have a knee (or q-value) knob? I didn't find one, this would be a nice addition to the compressor & multi-band compressor in an update. Any feedback on this?, maybe I just overlooked it? Regards, Michail

  • Hello

I never checked out what the buton opto really does. Perhaps the knee is a bit softer than the "without opto".

This is really a question for the developers or one should make a in/out comparison for getting the knee.

    The manual tells us:

Opto: Activates the optical release simulation, resulting in a more “breathing” sound. Compared to
the same settings without Opto Mode, a little less compression will be applied to the signal.

Sounds a bit like a "round knee"[:)]

  • Hi, Thanks for the answer. Seems like Opto could help in this respect. Personally however, I would prefer a knob/fader with which to control this value so one can customize properly. Would be great if the VSL developers would have a look at this :) Regards, Michail
