  • Urgent problem--VEPRO on PC Slave crashing

    Hey everyone,

A couple months ago I built a PC to slave to my main MacBook Pro machine. I've been using VEPRO and Logic 9 to great success--this really is an amazing product.

A few days ago, though, I started experiencing a problem. I'm running 3 instances of Kontakt 5 inside VEPRO, using a mixture of LASS 2, Cinebrass, Drums of War, and Evolve. Each instance has +/- 8 instruments. It's a film scoring project, and I've already recorded about a minute of music.

When I try to load a new instrument in to any of the existing instances, VEPRO crashes. I can add a new instance of VEPRO with Kontakt inside it and add instruments just fine, to a point. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 with 32GB of RAM; my performance specs suggest no problems with the computer's performance.

I've been emailing a customer support rep at Vienna for the past few days with little success. Basically, he suggested I disable multiprocessor support in Kontakt. No dice.

I'm under extreme pressure to finish this cue by Monday (I have 3 minutes left to score!)

Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so did you fix it? I'm hesitant to just do a complete re-install, since 1) It's been working beautifully for 2 months, 2) As an attempt to fix the problem, I installed the most current update, which didn't help at all, and 3) It'll take forever.

    Thanks in advance everyone.

  • Guys, really. Some help would really be appreciated.

Somehow, it's gotten worse. It's crashing even when using just a single instrument.

This is absolutely destroying my workflow.

  • Suddenly have the same problem here... I have Play and Omni loaded, and crash constantly... never a problem until recently, about the time I clicked OK for the new Logic 9 update... hmmm...

  • Same, except it isn't just happening in Logic. I've got the same problem in DP 8. And besides, these are running on a different machine...I suspect it likely has something to do with VEPRO over your DAW.
