  • Special Edition > Bösendorfer Imperial < Instrument Collection // Number of Samples ...

Hi! Please excuse if this question was posed already: Is the Bösendorfer in the (ex-) Special Edition the same as in the seperately bought Bösendorfer Imperial - Instrument Collections? I m asking because of the number of samples per key. 7 samples ppp-fff is written in the description of the Bösendorfer Imperial/Collection and i "feel" only 3 samples in my special edition, what is very ennoying especially when you try to distinguish between mf and fff. there is only one sample for this whole range, what makes crescendo-playing impossible. So do you think it makes sense to buy the Bösendorfer seperately? thanks already for your help!

  • The Special Edition version has only 3 velocity layers, while the Instrument Collection has 7. It's the same piano, but smaller in sample size. To be honest, I would get the Vienna Imperial if you're looking for complete realism.

  • thanks for your rapid response! that helps me already a lot. yes, 100 samples per key and the sound files sound very convincing.. but 300euro more either
