  • Using Vienna Ensemble pro to route audio back into Logic

    Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if this is possible, I don't believe it is since I haven't been able to make it work, but I thought I would ask.

I'm using Vienna Ensemble Pro with my notation software (Notion 3) to do an orchestral piece.  I have 4 instances of VEP running.

Is there a way to then take the audio output from VEP track by track and record it as Audio into Logic for further mixing?

    thanks in advance

    David

  • Hi David,

You can set the audio inputs and outputs in the VE PRO Preferences. This way you can route the audio outputs flexibly back to your sequencer.

  • Hi Paul,

thanks for your response, I'm not sure I understand what you mean.  could you please provide some more info?  again the idea is that midi is coming out of notion > into VEPRO (hosted through notion) and then I would like to get the audio instead of going back into notion, to go into logic so that I can print all the tracks as audio only for further mixing.

    thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

    My mistake.

When connecting to a VE PRO Server, it is not possible to route audio to another sequencer than the one that is sending MIDI. It is a closed system.

    Sorry about the confusion.

    Best,

    Paul

  • You can of course render the Notion tracks separately and load them into Logic for further mixing, assuming that Notion offers this option.
