  • Volume spike at the end of an envelope

Hello all, I'm experiencing, on some occasions, a spike of volume just immediately before the end of an envelope. For example, in a legato clarinet note, elongated, the volume tapers naturally at the end of the sound, and then just before silence, there is a sudden surge and clip of the sound. It sounds as though the sample is mismatched with the note length. Changing the note length does not affect the problem. There is no automation in the track. Thanks in advance for your insights.

  • Hi Ben,

That sounds like you hear a Release Sample. You can switch Release Samples on and off on the PERFORM Tab in the new Vienna Instruments on the Advanced Page, or on the "Perform" Page in the "legacy" Vienna Instruments).

Alternatively, you can pick a legato_sus articulation for the instruments where you are using longer notes combined with legatos. This way you are not "stuck" with the originally recorded length of the legato not, but you get a looped sustained note right after the legato transition.

    Best,
