Phantom Expression Changes?

Hello:

My question has to do with the "Expression" value on the "Ctrl Map" tab in VI Pro.  When I have it set to "none", the "Exp" slider on the "Perform" tab in VI Pro remains at a constant value.  However, when I put a value in the "Expression" slot, usually CC11, the "Exp" slider moves up and down as the score plays.  I am not sending C11 changes in my score, so what is responsible for making the "Exp" slider slide?  What is generating these changes?  Are they musically relevant to the score?

I'm using current versions of Sibelius, VE Pro 5, VI Pro, Windows 7 64-bit.

Hello John!

For dynamic values Sibelius sends velocity and CC11 data. If you don't want the Expression fader to be affected, just set it to "None" or a different controller. You can find more about this topic in the "Optimizng Sibelius Playback" manual, page 16.
